Oooh, now I am officially ticked off. Like a putz, I donated money to the September 11 Fund during the celebrity fund-raiser because it's administered by the United Way, not the Red Cross, and they promised that 100% of the money would go to victims of the attack on September 11. Only now they've set aside money for arts groups, like a dance troop, an AIDS-awareness group, and the Brooklyn Philharmonic! Dagnabbit.

nydailynews.com

Last week I took part in an online vote - I think it was on vote.com - asking if I was less likely to donate to charity in light of this BS, and I voted "yes." At the time, the vote was 75% "yes."

I sent them an email a couple of weeks ago when I found out they were giving money to Legal Aid, and giving money for the overhead for charitable organizations, because they promised that NONE of it would go for overhead, 100% would go to the victims and their families. No response.

But they're in my address book, so I'll send another one.
