JM, I asked him to expand on his views on this subject earlier.

Thanks for this note. My problem with uw is neither his military or right wing pov. I can learn from both, though I don't think he plans to learn from my point of view. My problem is that FL has designated certain topics, rightfully, so as off topic, such as presidential bashing, the Vietnam war, etc. But uw thinks he must still keep bringing them up. That's my problem.

I would love to have long conversations about presidents--I could trash all of them while uw does his anti-Clinton bit; about Vietnam where my views are decidedly different from uws, etc. But FL wants to keep this thread focused around contemporary foreign policy issues.
