Tom--

Cornerstone is a company transitioning from the highly competitive area of high resolution display monitors and graphics accelerator cards to basically document imaging/management software. Even though their Accel 3 high end graphics card has won accolades, there are simply too many other excellent display manufacturers out there for them to charge the premium prices they were accustomed to only 2 years ago. Of course this transition is going to take time. But from my observation, their Input Accel product seems to be well received, and they are forming the right alliances (Documentum, Adobe, to name a couple). This is where the real growth will take in the imaging industry-- not hardware.

Your comments reflect nothing new or something that the market has not yet discounted. TWAIN as a standard has been around for a while, yes, but essentially only for desktop scanners or graphics scanners using products like Photoshop or Corel Draw. My point was that these production scanners, which previously used ISIS, will now have a choice between this and the TWAIN open standard, which is being modified to accomodate the heavy duty needs of larger scanners typical of service bureaus. I am not sure you really understand these issues, or else you would have not made the comment about TWAIN vs ISIS being BS.
