IMMU announced today that certain changes in its Board of Directors occurred at its recent Board meeting. The Company reported that current Board members, A.E. Cohen, Albert D. Angel, and Rolf H. Henel, who served for 5, 4, and 1 years, respectively, have retired from the Board and that W. Robert Friedman, Jr., was elected to one of the vacant seats. Dr. David M. Goldenberg, Company Chairman, CEO, and founder, comments: "We are grateful for the service and contributions made by these retiring directors, especially during the Company's formative years, and now look forward to an association with Mr. Friedman. We also plan to add another pharmaceutical executive to the Board."
Mr. Friedman is Senior Managing Director at Dominick & Dominick, an investment banking firm in New York, and has approximately 25 years of healthcare investment banking and research experience. Prior to joining Dominick & Dominick, Mr. Friedman was with Furman Selz as a senior member of their Healthcare Corporate Finance Group, and before that with Flemings, the British merchant bank, where he headed the Health Care Industry Group. His career also includes tenure at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, where he served as Managing Director for international healthcare banking transactions, as well as holding senior positions at Prudential Bache Capital Funding and Montgomery Medical Ventures. Mr. Friedman received his B.A. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania, and his M.B.A. from The Wharton School in Philadelphia.
