Maurice,

The FCC attempted to help small "disadvantaged" businesses like NextWave by offering special payment terms and chances are they'll get screwed for their effort. The FCC transferred valuable property owned by the people of the USA to Alan Salmasi and NextWave in exchange for 10% down payment and a promise to remit future payments. Had the FCC not acted as creditor by offering deferred payment terms, NextWave would not have benefited from their bankruptcy of convenience and their licenses would have been stripped long ago, and we wouldn't be having this conversation today. I'm sure the FCC has learned from their mistakes and will no longer offer the pay as you go plan. Bad idea. Plenty of smart corporate lawyers with bright ideas how to take advantage of large corporations and wealthy governments.

The FCC rightfully attempted to reclaim the unpaid licenses as regulators should do, but Alan Salmasi and crew managed to convince the right judge the FCC should be treated as a creditor and therefore maintain control of the licenses through bankruptcy without having to pay for them. Brilliant! That will teach those cowboys at the FCC for trying to help small business! Way to go Alan! Huge victory! Alan and NextWave can go down in history with the person who sued and won bucks from McDonald's for spilling hot coffee on themselves, and the poor sap who burnt down their house when a pop tart got stuck in their toaster and the lawyers pinned the blame on the pop tart maker. Damned proud! Look what we did, stripped the FCC of its regulatory authority! Woo Hoo!

No shortage of foolishness committed by our legal system here in the USA. I'm sure you remember the judge who claimed the licenses were worth only $1 billion!....... Hot damned, to think we almost got away with that one! Wouldn't that have been sweet! Oh well, let's try suing the FCC for fraudulent conveyance! Yeah, that could be the ticket! No? Oh well, we'll strike it one of these days! Keep at it boys, there's millions of $$$$$$ at stake here for you, get the right judge and BINGO!!!!

Maurice, don't confuse my displeasure with NextWave with a lack of respect for property and freedom. Don't forget as Americans we have have a right to voice our complaints and opinions regarding just about anything and anybody we choose. I have taken exception to their actions as well as the FCC's and will continue to post my thoughts and opinions while overlooking your immature, ridiculous, and sensationalistic suggestions of my supporting communism.
