Re Charities: Maybe someone will start a thread that talks about different charities, and the percentage of money they keep for "administrative" costs, versus the actual money given away. (ie. Red Cross, Salvation Army, Rainbow Coalition, etc etc etc.)

Perhaps we can find out from the actual charity offices how some of the recipients have fared after the help. It would be interesting to see if the agencies actually keep those type of records.

It also would be useful to check salaries for the execs and the staff for all the charities....and compare them to the government salaries, as well as private industry salaries for like type positions. Surely they wouldn't be higher than Government salaries, would they?

Although someplace I saw that the woman who just left the Red Cross had an annual salary of $450,000.....which I believe is higher than the salary of President of the US.
