The hazards of National Republican Politics....

As the war on terrorism continues, the Federal Agencies are getting ahead of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution in their haste to lock up Arab National...

If the figures published by the FBI are correct about 1200 Arab men are being detained in different parts of the country. This figure does not include any Arabs in over seas countries that are being held at the request of the FBI, CIA, State Department, Military and other co-operative police departments.

This selective enforcement of passport and visa regulations effects only Arab men. In as much as Chinese nationals, Irish students, Japanese Students, Brazilian Vacationers, who have the same passport problems are not being detained.

What happens historically is the Federal Agencies who have this power in their hands, end up getting over zealous in the application of their authority. And this will become a new scandal for the current administration.

Remember Nixon and his enemies list? McCarththy and his list of blackballed Americans. The CIA and their bag of dirty tricks that caused more problems for the Presidents they served (Iran- Contra), than problems they solved?

Right now Bush, is riding a nice popularity wave. But his underlings will shortly overplay their hand, and do something outrageous that will harm the image of Bush and his chance for re-election. In this respect history always repeats itself.

Have a good Thanksgiving...Jerome
