Haqqani said 4,000 Jews had not gone to work at the World Trade Centre on the day.

Out of fear of being perceived as anti-semitic (which I'm not), isn't it just stretching credulity a tad for these Arabs to claim that 4,000 Jews, who had just had their lives spared by some form of "tip", could actually keep something like this a complete secret?

That said, I do continue to have a gut feeling that the Israelis knew more than they are letting on. But I figure they had no more obligation to tell us what they knew...

Certainly not anymore obligation than Churchill had in telling us about the impending Japanese attack on Peal Harbor. Not only the Brits broken the Japanese naval and diplomatic codes, they had also broken US diplomatic codes. (Obviously, he didn't feel compelled to tell us that either.. :0)

So essentially they were reading everyone's mail and had enough information for Churchill to permit the events that would be necessary for bringing the US into the war against Hitler.
