Mike could be a little bit over the top on the label direction, but he's definitely on the right track as far as storage. It's just unthinkable that I'd leave the disk in a stack instead of putting it back in it's case. One of my problems is that my collection has gotten so large that I can't possibly hope to keep it anywhere near my stereo...as of now it's upstairs in my office..2 racks. RACK ONE(A-G) is positioned under my framed Beatles portrait. Rack TWO (H-Z) is positioned under my original Miles Davis painting (not by Miles...of Miles)

The pain begins when one tries to copy a CD and it won't read...this is the result of not replacing the CD in it's case. If they end up in the car they are almost certainly scuffed

I feel so ashamed..Jeez..my white ALbum disk 2 won't even play anymore (luckily a friend burned me an replacement)
