Mephisto, Historical problem with US foreign policy. We chose our morality based on immediate benefit to near term goals. We brought Castro into power, we supported the Shah. On close inspection, I never could tell the difference between the good guys and the bad guys in Vietnam. Look the other way in Chechyna, because the Russians are our friends. Look the other way in Mexico [well known torture throughout the government] because we want free trade. What's in it for us now; forget about the impact 10 years from now, that's someone else's problem. jttmab
