what is this frame of reference? how does one understand it? and wouldn't that in itself be open to many interpretations. All I know is that the only constant thing in this world is change. Even as a species, we are evolving although genetically speaking at a slower pace than our cultures and civilization. But how can we live according to some frame of reference set hundreds of years ago. Please help me understand.

Here's an example which I hope you can clarify and I may be wrong about this so forgive me if I've been misinformed. I was told that according to Islam, it is forbidden to lend money and charge interest. How does the modern Muslim conduct business? wouldn't he be at a disadvantage. I am sure there are banks in Muslim countries that charge interest for loans.

thanks in advance...
