AMZN has raised prices by ten percentage points?

I bought a few Bill Douglas music CDs yesterday because they were not in stock at Buy.com. The standard discount is now 5% off list price, with 9% discounts available if one buys a set of two CDs by the artist that they suggest. As I recall, it seemed that the discounts used to be 15% to 20%.

If my recollection is correct, and if they have raised all prices, then they are going to test their customer loyalty and price sensitivity this holiday season. Also, if they can maintain overall sales revenues, then their gross margins will improve tremendously.

If somebody has already presented this, or if they announced prices increases (unlikely) then I apologize to the thread for wasting everybody's time. I don't follow the thread much--just pop in once in a while.

Best regards,
TomD

P.S. It appears that I will have to get more disciplined about using DealTime
