But though you might be targeting, in your mind, a person or group who has met that criteria, the choice of your source material for redicule draws others into it. It was clear, I think, that the whimsy was started as a point of redicule against certain people but, imo, it went beyond that. Certainly I would not feel comfortable discussing my beliefs without thinking I would be laughed at after that little bit of whimsy without the expectation of being rediculed. But I have "imaginary friends", and I have seen fairies. perhaps only in a state of madness. Who knows. And since it suits me and they are benign, who cares.
