Why would HE be beating my heart ?
It created me. Like I create robots. I don't need to be IN their breath all the time.....I created them for my convenience, for a purpose.
I have trouble when we try to humanify, or animalize God. Man has never been able to replicate himself so far. It seems perfectly logical to therefore believe that God would not be of any form conceivable to humans. It may just be some form of energy, or charge, or current, or even an all powerful black hole ? Or nature itself may be what we think of as God. After all Nature is immortal, kind, just and all powerful...? Why do you think there is one 'thing' there, sitting around, with nothing better to do than to pass judgement on us, or worse, expect us to pray and say good words about it ? Do you think IT would really know or give a damn what HG thought about it ? Do we give a damn what the machines that we assemble think of us ?
God is Hope. We hope there is God because we want to dream, we want to be 'good' people, we want to prosper and think there will be a better future. Religions are created bcause people want to get organised and hope for better life, better world, better societies.
My opinion, of course. It helps me concentrate on things that matter in life and forget about things which really may or may not matter. The things I care about more than God or religion are - integrity, honesty, love, education and making this world a better place by my everyday actions. I figure if i have this worked out, then even if there IS a God who sits there on his high chair on the judgement day, he wouldn't find any reasons to punish me if I've been a loving, kind, compassionate person, even if i have not 'prayed' to him.
