the frame of reference is how we should behave towards each other... whether spouses, dependents, servants, workers and what have you, and how should we carry ourselves in life... religions in general, have put down such a frame of reference... we are the same human beings of 1500 years ago... the same species ... and our behavior in life and towards each other has to be guided by a frame of reference... the issue of interest in Islam is very difficult... and I am not one who can explain much about it... however, I know that there are many banks in Islamic countries that pay/collect interest on deposits/loans... this is an issue I truly don't know much about. sorry regards amein
