Dear Greg, There already are a number of thread on SI for Technical Analysis.
Try
Technical Analysis-Beginners
One of the members there, Andy Gabor, has archieved all the "best of the best" post on Technical Analysis, at his home page. Any topic from strategies, to software, to indicators, etc. is there. Just post to anyone on the thread and they can give you the http. As a matter of fact, about 75 of us from that board are meeting the weekend of July 11th, in Newark, NJ for our second annual TAOTB (Technical Analysis on The Beach) meetings. We did it last year in Biloxi, Miss, and it was a complete success. No fees, no presenters, no adgendas, just a lot of fun and learning, you should try to come. It really is an open atmoshpere of learning, nobody there is as vicious as I am towards "those who tout bad stocks and bad investment strategies." <G>. As I said, you can get all the info on software at "the best of the best," But a good, reliable, and inexpensive software is TC2000 from Worden Bros. It is what every new TA'er should have. In fact it is what I have used for most of the OO info.
