To all:

An acquaintance of mine is thinking about purchasing some Microsoft, for the first time. He has been reading about the xbox has some questions:

It's reported that Microsoft looses approximately 150/machine per sale. Now since the xbox sells for ~400, is this b/c the "guts" cost 550 or is 150/machine loss factoring in the R&D and design work MSFT had to do? Who is manufacturing the xbox? SLR or FLEX?
