I have no intention, at this time, to leave SI.....I temporarily was away from it already, form the 21st to the 27th. In that time I devoted much time to our Lord, and His word. I have been renewed and refreshed...Praise God.!
Barry you are right of course, about the world that we live in, but I was not so much making reference to the outside world as I was to the church world.
The people of God have become worldly, they are gone astray, led by so-called leaders of the church. They know all the right words and phrases. They are elders and deacons and pastors and teachers,and authors, they have slipped in and now hold the people of God hostage to their own doctrines.
The people have become even more sottish than they know. They have given up the word of God for the word of man. They do not have any understanding of the true word or it's Holy author. They have cast aside all the teachings of God and taken up with those who say "I have spoken with God today, and this is His message for you".Or "I have been with God and I He has imparted to me the correct interpretation of certain events, therefore I write this book so that you can know too.....so now pay me for what God has given you freely.....They attempt to make all things of God sound confounding so that the people of God actually believe that they must buy his/her book in order to know what God has said...And in truth much of what is written by experts is not truth at all.... 2 Cor.11:3
They go into supposed houses of God and sit in the same pew week after week and listen to one verse so-called men of God, who do a fine job of building a sermon around something other than God's word.
Week after week the same people sit in the same pews listening to the same kinda sermons,never really learning what God said or what He meant when He said it....Just a feel good kinda sermon.
All around this country, and not limited to this country, the puplits are manned by fleshy "follow me", kinda pastors, who themselves do not know the word of God, but instead go to the nearest christian book-store and buy ready made sermons. If they had to spend more than 15 min.on their own studying the word of God they would be lost.!....And the church goers don't even know the difference.
These are end-times Barry, we are the generation of the Fig tree, and our people are oblivious to any of God's warnings. Just give them a feel good kinda sermon once a week and they've had their fill of God.
They've done their part for at least another whole week..."Praise God", they say, "church was good today wasn't it brother"? Then go out in the parking lot and yell and curse at their neighbor for blocking him in, Or go down the street to a restaurant and curse the waitress for screwing up the order.
It's become ever so difficult to differentiate the people of God from the rest of the world.
But that is really not my point, and before I get distracted I want to make it clear what my point is.
We as christians have leaders within our ranks, that do not know or care about the word of God. They have in many cases intentionally infiltrated the church of God, in order to lead astray the people of God....And this is nothing new, for it was going on form Ancient of days(Jer.10:21.12:10.23:1--23:21 and others), but what is new is that time is getting short.!....
There are pastors today who have become pastors (this I know) in order that they might be believed when they say "but pastor so and so is just too far to the right, listen to me, I too am a pastor, and here is the real truth"....and then go on to say things that God did not say.!...They are the enemies of God, clothed in self appointed righteousnessand holding the word of God in their right hand.! God help them.......God help us!
On the other hand there are pastors, teachers, preachers, evangelists,deacons,elders and leaders of all ranks and also authors
who truly love the Lord in all sincerity, and whose intentions are honorable, but nonetheless fall short, very short, of bringing the truth (meat) to their flock. Pastoring the sheep of God is an awesome responsibility,and many, even good intended patstors just should not be pastors...Jer.23:21
Barry there are only two churches out of the seven churches spoken of in Rev.that our Lord Jesus gives His full blessings to, are you in one of those two.?
Next time you come out of your church, ask yourself what you learned about God and His word that you did not know before you went in.And more importantly does what you learned line up plumb with the word of our Father.
