I hardly call it "progree" for a nation to have suffer such a barbarous act of mass destruction DELIBERATELY TARGETED against innocent civilians.

And I hardly call it "progress" for such obvious mass murderers to be comfortable in their faith that, no matter how heinous their actions, they will never be required to pay the "ultimate price"..

The same price that so many of their innocent victims had no choice in paying.

If that's your idea of "civilization", I take my spears and clubs anyday. Because such a civilization, when constrained by it's laws to show "restraint" in the course of doing battle with an enemy who has no such laws, is doomed to fail (justifiably), just as Rome fell before the barbarian hordes.

When people stop committing the ultimate crimes, such as capital murder, or other grievous offenses against your "civilized" society, then I'll be all for the abolition of capital punishment, if only because there would no longer be crimes justifying it.

Btw, the Nuremburg Trials were military tribunals, and I hardly believe anyone can claim that the defendants received anything but what they deserved.
