Losing Vick, Suggs, and 4 O-lineman really hurt us. As far as the Pitt game, the team just quit. I don't know why. Maybe there was some internal turmoil. Maybe we were just too young to recover after a tough Syracuse loss.

I thought that we were at a point in our climb when we could reload not rebuild on offense like we did on defense last year, but I was wrong. And we still have not found our QB of the future. The current starter does not do the two things necessary for our system to work - throw the deep ball and be a legitimate running threat. The current freshman backup looks like he can run but can't throw too well. He'll make a great safety. We'll see how the other two freshman QB's who are redshirting turn out. I really wish we'd gotten Mike Robinson.

We are at a crossroads in our program. Our offensive philosophy is outdated. If we want to win the MNC, we'll have to completely change our whole offensive system. If we don't, we'll just be another top 20 program that has a really good year every 4 years or so when the next generation of offensive linemen become seniors. Beamer has shown the ability to adapt over the years. He needs to change things once more.
