I agree with you. IBM currently has the only reticle making capability and there is no infrastructure currently in place to support the move to this technology. However this is changing and an infrastructure could be in place quicker than most people could imagine if the transition is profitable.

If you are a Fab manager and you know that in Four years you will be using X Ray lithography or something other than DUV why would you not try to get a jump on things early. Wouldn't you want to begin considering the transition to this technology now since you are going to have to start this process of transitioning to something other than DUV in a couple of years?

The cost of the Synchrotron ring can be shared and that technology has been around a long time is quite efficient. I think there are maybe eight of these Synchrotron rings in the U.S.

These transitions happen every couple of years and the industry goes into a crawl. When the clouds lift and were off to the races I am want to be invested in the right companies with the right technology.
Unfortunately I am unclear of both at the moment.
