Shareholders already pay taxes on distributed profit and realized capital gains. Employees already pay taxes on income. Buyers pay taxes on the exchange of goods and services. Taxing the corporation itself is overkill, and can only result in higher prices, a lower return to investors, pressure to cut costs (such as payroll), and/or intense lobbying for compensatory tax breaks or subsidies. Better to streamline the whole thing, as it constitutes a drag on business and gives incentive for seeking special political favors........Ah, the machinists. Considering stopping them is merely an emergency situation, and not a stance against unions overall........
