The News Yesterday:- "The Times" October 2nd year 1263 AD.

From our foreign correspondent on the spot, PERLITICUS BUTTONUS in the farthest flung land called "Scotland"

WAR IN SCOTLAND, Innocent Viking Traders ruthlessly slaughtered.

Yesterday, a fleet of Viking traders arrived in Scottish waters with a bumper shipment of Autumn bargains for the needy citizens of Scotland. The Vice President of Sails King Haakon IV had this to say.

"Our ships were deeply laden with goods to sell to the Scottish civilians at bargain basement prices that our Viking Nation has become famous for. Due to bad weather we had to make an unintended stop off at a town called "Largs". I wish we had chosen somewhere else. There we were ambushed by a group of murderous Scottish criminals who drove us back into our boats, and most of the remaining Viking sails force then perished in the stormy seas.

I am utterly shocked this could happen in this civilized day and age"

Unsubstantiated reports from the Scottish King at Largs King Alexander said

"A couple of our lads went down to the waters edge to help the Viking Sails Force secure their boats and belongings. Before we knew what, they upped anchor and shot off like a bunch of scared cats. We never laid a hand on them, just because they they can't sail a Long Boat or their navigate their way across a kitchen sink is no reason to blame us for their ills. MOST folks know you cant go sailing in these parts of the world during the autumn equinox. I really do wonder if those Vikings had the proper documentation to show they were qualified to sail longboats"
