"let your fingers do the walking..." sounds like you have terminal monitoritis. the symptoms, to me, are major warning signs that your monitor is "code red" i'd do some shopping on the net and look for a good deal on a new monitor, (gee, they have some whiz-bang 19" flat screens). i hope i'm wrong, and others can give you some positive ideas, but my experience is once you get those symptoms, it likely new monitor time fairly soon. i don't believe a repair is worth the cost given the price of new monitors. good luck. larry
