The type of poster to which I allude is everywhere, and not just on SI, and not just on this thread.
They get their jollies, and their 15 minutes of fame, by dazzling people with unprovable theories, a poor and distorted view of both history and America's relative performance, and being always ready to out-paranoid everyone else. They constantly damn their leaders for their failures, and they exceed the Taliban in puritanical self-righteousness.
Their posts are pervaded by a narcissistic wish to see themselves elevated above common people - lesser beings, who sin, make mistakes, do dumb things, and get confused. You know, normal people.
Your name didn't occur. Should it have?
