OT - Narcissistic Babble

Hi Jim,

We have apparently got a bit of an annex to FADG opened up here:

Kudos to Lee and Hawkmoon for an enlightening and fair minded debate. Me? I decided to cut the bombast to a minimun, though the outrage at just how the sausage of foreign policy gets ground lives on. Hope you like the new look. <vbg>

Re: Respect for the Court - While I'm of a mind to agree with you about the problem with too much witticism being vacuous, I must respectfully disagree with you that the court system is an unblemished example of moral rectitude and intellectual honesty. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the history of the U.S., we've had some dreadful decisions handed down. Dred Scott - 1857, Japanese internment - WWII and a list of others. Whether or not the U.S. Supreme Courts' handling of the Florida election mess was justifiable is open to question, but as to whether it was good logic or "law", even the Court ruled that there was no precedent from that fiat act. Putting too much faith in a bunch of judges is just what the Imams of Iran and Afghanistan want their subject populations to do. Is this really something we should aspire to?

Salaams, Ray
