so why don't you do a few hundred pages on the (anti-Castro) CIA's linkages with the drug trade.

It would probably be more appropriate to post the photos of the thousands of Cubans who risk their lives in small boats attempting to flee Cuba for the United States.

And what's even more amusing is that Raymond believes that Cuba is somehow being hurt by "unrelenting US policies of hatred", despite the fact that many nations trade with Cuba.

Soon after the Helms-Burton Act was signed into law, Canada, Mexico, and the European Union (among others) protested the actions of the United States. These nations, all of which conduct extensive trade with Cuba,

It would seem that Raymond contends that only trade with the US is what prevents Cuba from prospering under Castro's enlightened regime.

And btw, I'm actually encouraged by Castro's acceptance of US assistance. It will hopefully pave the way to closer relations for a time period AFTER Castro (or maybe even while he's still in power).

Castro has been FAR more responsible for making political invectives against the US, and seeking to provide aid and comfort to any nation that claims to be our enemy or rival.

As far as I'm concerned he's a political dinosaur, one of the last of the cold warriors who has hampered Cuba's reapprochment with the world economy because of his vitriolic hatred of all things American.

But what's more amusing is that there seem to be no end to the number of persons who will defend a totalitarian dictator who has outlasted every US president since Kennedy.

A dictator who the US is not responsible for propping up or supporting.
