Actually Ray, I think that the approach you referenced is one that would maximize returns if it were used as a base upon which to build. I have had the most success when I did fundamental analysis and used it to amass equity choices that could be sorted for short term drivers. Unfortunately, the law of diminishing returns in terms of time spent and money made would currently seem to favor factors other than fundamentals. I guess that means that we should spend more time on those factors.

In my case boredom and laziness have limited the number of factors I am willing to consider. I shall soon be one of those who just runs around chat boards looking for the fruits of other's labors. My only saving grace is that having been around for a while I think I could do pretty well following the lead of a few posters here, and I know enough not to follow the puffy proclamations of a "few" posters who do not post here. g.
