Hey, Larry. The VIX does not always bottom when the market peaks. I have found it normally bottoms later. I don't think the absolute values that are used in the 3-line break charts are an accurate way to show the VIX in relation to the overall market direction.

While you could say the reversal of the VIX is a confirmation of the trend, I think the EMA line crossings are a better indication of market direction.
