Read another rationale for an uptick till 11/30: tax loss sales coupled with wash rule requirements permitting buybacks after 30 days... and vice versa... buying now and selling the losers by 12/31. If this has merit (and I'm hardly the specialist to define it), it means the losers will be fashionable longs this week. The article is not online, unfortunately, but appeared in the Sunday Oregonian.
