I see, it would have been sufficient "in your opinion." Fortunately, your opinion did not count. It was the Japanese opinion that mattered. The Japanese did not surrender after Hiroshima on August 5th. The Japanese did not surrender after Nagasaki on August 9th. In fact, the Japanese did not surrender until August 14th. Through all these days, more American lives were being lost, including many held in Japanese POW camps. What do you imagine was "the opinion" of the wives, mothers, and sweethearts of these additional men who were being lost?
