Banks were an early focus as more merger speculation gripped the influential sector. Shares in Swiss airline Crossair <CROZn.S> will be under pressure after 24 people were killed when a Crossair airliner crashed in bad weather on its approach to Zurich on Sunday. Anglo-Norwegian construction and engineering firm Kvaerner <KVI.OL> may get a lift from news it has secured cash to avert imminent collapse as the company struggles to put together a longer-term bailout in time for a shareholder vote on Thursday.
