I'm a value investor, so this makes me follow beaten stocks and young upstarts in search of "this-can't-go-lower" type of investments.

Apple is definitely a beaten stock, but, except for the short dip to 15 on January, it has not traded below value for the last two years or so. I'm still on the lookout though.

Recently, I bought Pure Atria (PASW) and Corel (COSFF). Pure Atria recovered nicely, and I sold for over 30% profit in less than two months. I suggested Corel in SI at 5 3/8 about two months ago, and right now is at 6 1/2. This one still has another 2-4 bucks to move up in the next six months.

Shorting stocks is really hard, and Apple is a good example of it. If enough irrational people like the stock, the "tulip-mania" can last a long time, and in the mean time your shorts are sure to be called. Currently I'd say leaps against IBM and Coke (buy both or none, IMHO the chances of at least one of them tanking are relatively high).

Remember, you make your own investment decisions...
