Much higher than that. Fermi was Italian. Bethe was German. Bohr was Danish. I'd have to do some research. but there were dozens (at least) of German and other European Jews involved in the Manhattan Project. I had never made a count, but I did know that there were more than a few, which made me wonder why you were asking the question to begin with. Have I made some progress in convincing you that the entire body of knowledge and innovation doesn't necessarily reside in the US? Aside: Hope you had a nice holiday and your turkey was moist and flavorfull.
