The embryo that was cloned was done not for reproducing humans but to develop new stem cell lines. The government will not fund development of new stem cell lines. Since the company cloning the embryo is privately funded, there are no government restrictions. Development of new stem cell lines would aid development of new treatments for many diseases. JB
