Venkster, with all due respect.

This is the first year in over 20(or more) that the company I work for is not handing out christmas bonuses. We have also placed a wage freeze on all salaried employees.

We have yet to lay off anyone, and that is a very unlikely scenario. I remember back some 25 or so years we had top dollar toolmakers doing shop work just to keep them employed for the eventual recovery- hard to get those guys back after they have left.

I suppose I should also mention we are in manufacturing, not technology, and our trucking division had seen slight pick up. Also, some of the work the manufacturing divisions have lost has been due to pricing pressure from our customers.

So I suppose you could be correct, I just know there are going to be some 2000 families in this community disappointed tomorrow when they hear of no bonuses. Lots of people depend on these bonuses.
