I can't imagine a much worse business than selling to Dell or money losing, shrinking PC companies.

I've never completely bought the notion that a disk drive is a commodity. And even if it were, an OEM still has to consider the quality of the commodity since its name goes on the box and they have to stand behind the product should it fail.

Granted, a parts supplier will never earn a high profit margin unless they have something proprietary, but even an average margin would seem like Nirvana to the poor, pitiful disk drive industry.

[Edit] I did, however, let go a chunk of my HTCH - and actually made about 20%.
