thank you for all your remarks on "Trading against the trend". I totally agree with the shorting idea. Unfortunately, for my parents (close to retirement), there accounts are strictly cash/long (no margin/shorting). No fooling around here Chris... Solid companies like GE, WMT, IBM, and C give reasonable growth with dividends and will keep the invested money ahead of the inflationary bite... Jim
