1) there have been plenty of articles about Intel's terahertz transistor. I strongly suggest you read those first.
2) I have no idea what you're talking about
3) I don't doubt that amd will try to use model numbers to achieve whatever arbitrary value they want. the problem is that Intel's cpus will deliver real frequencies, and ipc will improve over time, thus making amd's model numbers irrelevant.
