Well if he knows Polish, then it's possible that he is Polish, which leads to the possibility that he thinks I chose to address the message to him because of that, which was not the case. On the other hand, I am mostly Swedish, and where I grew up people tell Swedish jokes. It never occurred to me to take offense at that.
