I am pleased to see your interest in medical progress. However, by the time you acquire sepsis, you'll be too delirious to ask your doctor any intelligent questions. Besides, "quizzing" your doctor in the usual --MB format of whining by means of sending a letter, would not be a timely approach, given the aggressiveness of the condition. We recently completed a study on outcomes related to care of the morbidly obese critically ill patient, perhaps the first study of its kind in this growing patient population.
