Cax,

<< Someone poking fun at aedge besides me? Nah.... >>

I can't imagine such a thing from such an astute and objective observer of the wireless scene.

He is correct, in one respect ... everyone should read [the] ... EMC recently released 2 articles, and he should probably read Julian's article again himself to absorb all the implications, then he can put some non-cdma lead in his pencil. <g>

The articles are well written. Mike Woolfrey is a standout on Julian Herbert's staff, and has done exceptional research into the Americas and evidenced exceptional insight in doing so, and the Cingular article is one of the best that has been written on the subject of the Cingular "Flip", that essentially will provide parity between GSM & CDMA in the US eventually.

The concluding paragraph of Woolfrey's article points to an absolutely crucial set of decisions that will be made early next year by BSI entities in Latin America, and how Sprint PCS might be a factor in this.

<< Edge is great! Edge will work! Edge will be deployed! Screw capacity, screw data rates, screw profitability! Go Edge go! >>

I see the good Doctor has modified his stance on EDGE somewhat now that it is apparent that EDGE will indeed "see the light of day" (courtesy of the friend of carranza2).
