RE Harvard Professor missing

Get real about conspiracy. This guy is involved in basic scientific research as noted on his web site. X-ray crystallography studies are as about a field from bioterrorism as one could imagine. I would be more worried about bioterrorism threat from some of his post docs students making minimum wage based on 80 hr week. Guys like Wiley just overseeing a multimillion dollar per year research operation.

PS DOW 10K up and over today. If Christmas sales continue to run 2.5% ahead of last year, the grinch is not going to steal Christmas from the consumer and economy as a whole.

Our research interest is in the mechanisms by which glycoproteins carry out complex functions on the membranes of viruses and cells.

We are studying how the influenza virus binds to cell surfaces by determining the three-dimensional structures of complexes of virus glycoproteins with cell surface molecules. Based on X-ray structural models, we are synthesizing potential inhibition of virus-cell binding. We characterize inhibitor binding by NMR and are using both selected and site-directed mutant proteins with altered receptor affinities to dissect the energetics of the virus-cell interaction.
