Did you read the whole report? Joseph implies that the later and smaller cut is a real positive sign for Intel.
He expects Intel prices to rise in Q1.
He believes competition from AMD has eased.
He believes Intel's product line is superior to AMD's.
He says Intel has "unchallenged dominance" and that this is good news for Intel investors.
He does not believe that Intel will have accelerated price cuts in 2002 like it did in 2001.
Demand for the P4 is great.
Yields most likely running better than expected as evidenced by speed acceleration.

It may be that the "leader is hurting," but this report sure doesn't support that proposition.
