PCCW Invites Capable Banks to Coordinate Debt Issuance: HKEJ
Nov 27, 2001 - 10:13:30 HKT
Quamnet News Service
Pacific Century CyberWorks (0008), Richard Li's communications vehicle, would ask any banks to coordinate the company's debt securities issues, provided that each bank could collect US$200 million (HK$1.56 billion) subscriptions from investors for the notes, said Hong Kong Economic Journal, without identifying the source.

The original appointment of coordinators, including Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Barclays and HSBC, would be replaced. The company had planned earlier this year to raise US$3 billion through these banks.

Given the company's original plan to raise US$4.7 billion in debts, PCCW would have to raise US$3.45 billion under the new arrangement, after an issue of US$1.25 billion earlier.
