Given 2% short-term rate, it's below inflation rate. Essentially it's free money for the banks. They can get and sit on it and still make money. I used to have respect for AG but now I've found he's using the short-term rates for daytrading...no more respect for the man.

Trimtabs has article on pension funds rebalancing from bonds to equities and it's coming to an end very soon.
