6210 destroying Nokia’s good name?
The 6210 handset from Nokia is so full of bugs that retailers are raging against Nokia.

Silje Beite Løken, WAP.com November 26 2001
The 6210 was launched as an executive handset, for optimal synchronisation, high-speed and other business related features. However, the bugs are crawling and retailers are getting tired of customers returning their flawed handsets.

Arrogant manufacturer
“Either the Nokia management does not realise the problem, or they are pretty arrogant,” a disappointed manager, Dag Magne Søyland, told Dagens Næringsliv (Norwegian Business Daily). Søyland works for the retailer NorDialog that sold more than 25 000 6210 handsets.

30 per cent are full of bugs
NorDialog is not the only retailer to file this kind of complaints. Some customers have returned their 6210 up to six times due to bugs. Søyland said that around 30 per cent of the 25 000 sold devices are full of bugs and have been returned to the shops. Let’s hope the Finns have developed the 6310 keeping this situation in mind.

Wants compensation
The problem is just that Nokia uses 2 – 3 weeks to repair a handset. It is supposed to take a few days only and NorDialog has had to give completely new handsets to impatient customers. Søyland is therefore demanding a close to NOK 1 million compensation (USD 110) after the shops have had to hand out about 350 6210 handsets at their own expense.
