I'd give that a LOL, except that's precisely why I got out at the first opportunity. There may be more depressing subjects than nuclear weapons, but I haven't found them.

Good decision on your part. The one thing the job had going for it was that there was never any doubt about the importance of the work and there was a shared value that errors in judgement were something to avoid. It was an exceptional group of people to work with.

Do they glow in the dark?
We were told it was perfectly safe.

So they believe destruction of the USS Liberty really was an accident?

That one is such a great example of the mindboggling nature of the US-Israel relationship. I can't imagine another country that could have gotten away with that one. It's stupifying.

"My kids are good kids and this has really been blown out of proportion and you know, there's just no way anything like that would have happened," Carol McKeehan, the mother of Eric McKeehan, told the Boston Herald.

Susan St. Hilaire, the mother of one of the two juveniles charged, said the charges were based on rumors and hearsay.

"I lived with these kids," she told The Boston Globe, characterizing the boys as "gentle" and "misunderstood."

Sweet little munchkins...wonder why they had those explosives...probably giving dad a hand getting out a trump stump.

I've been thinking about relocating. The criteria: an island; more than 500 miles from the nearest continental body, warm climate throughout the year; not in a typical hurricane path; small population with desirable demographics. So far the island that is coming the closest is St. Helena, where Napoleon was banished to. My cousin tells me she read that the population is 70%+ female with an average age of 21. I need to verify the demographics, perhaps with direct observation, but so far it's looking pretty good to me.
