Yes, we do have a basis for disagreement.

You engage in partisan political wrangling. I don't have a partisan bone in my body. I wrangle over ideas. Politics is primarily about ideas. Race and ethnicity are inherent personal characteristics. There is nothing there to wrangle over. Religion, like politics, is about ideas.

We can and do debate ideas. Ideas can be critiqued and positions taken. Some points of view are more defensible than others. Some approaches are more logical than others or have been demonstrated to be more effective than others. We ponder those things, we debate them with others, and we choose our positions. Some positions are downright risible, but civil people avoid being personally insulting as they evaluate positions. What's a joke is to be limited in debate by the hand of candor tied behind our backs.
