If you believe, why not believe that you are spoken to? That puts a burden on the person... are the words you hear the ones you want to hear, or the voice of a higher power? If they are a higher power, sometimes they won't be what we WANT to hear. Pass it thru what we know to be true from our beliefs. "Turn the other cheek". Do we know what we hear is against that? If so, why? Consider it. Is it important enough? Would striking back save 1000 lives over 100 lost? If so, would that be right? It's hard. it takes time and thought. No simple "evil and good" stuff. That doesnt' cut it. Maybe Saddamm is evil, but is Iraq? And what would attacking, and how we choose to attack, matter? There's a reason that some of America's greatest hero's are the bad guys. Sometimes they are right. We can't just bomb Iraq. And there is no way we can justify it beyond "we want to because one dude is a freak who might hurt us someday". Nope. Gotta do better than that in a free and true world.

uhm, I got off-topic.

So what do you think if I say I don't like (not to say I don't believe in) the god of the old-testament, but I hear a higher power?
